One of my favorite things to do is to "pause time" every so often with my family. I know you can't actually pause time, but I can really pause what is going on around us for a short period and provide an atmosphere where we can just connect, be filled with peace and simplicity, and just really be together. I don't do this enough, though if I did it all the time I'm not sure it would have the same effect on us. One of my favorite places to go to do this is our local Reserve center. It is filled with beautiful woods, trails, trickles of water and blue skies on a good day. There are no phones, TV's, computers, or schedules. Just us and God's creation. A perfect spot for boys to just be boys :) I took advantage of a lovely fall Saturday afternoon a few weeks ago and snuk my boys and a close friend over to the park for a bit. We did nothing but hike, run, walk, crawl, chat, listen, watch, and breathe fresh air. It was just perfect. Life just seems to get busier within our home these days and it is moments like this that help me stay focused on our purpose in this stage of life... pausing moments are a great way to fill myself up with fuel to work hard within all the fast paced moments that are often just as lovely, just not as simple paced.
